The Senior User’s focus
  • Factors affecting the arrangements for realizing the benefits during and after the project and the level of confidence that the benefits will be achieved
  • The proper definition and communication of requirements; the ability of the products (the solution) to fulfil operational requirements; the adequacy of ongoing support arrangements for the solution; the timeliness of the solution in relation to user deadlines
  • Conflicting resource requirements - maintaining business-as-usual operations
  • Factors affecting the ability to meet user/customer obligations. Availability of suitably qualified user personnel to support planning and quality control
  • Factors affecting the transition of project products into service – the requirements of service, support and maintenance functions
The Senior Supplier’s focus
  • The viability of the specialist technical aspects of delivery plans (including related costs and timescales)
  • The selection of appropriate technical methods, equipment, techniques, tools and standards
  • The viability of the solution
  • The availability of suitably qualified personnel for critical specialist tasks
  • Factors affecting the transition of project products into service - the requirements of service, support and maintenance functions
  • Availability of team resources. Conflicting resource requirements - development and service/maintenance demands on personnel
  • Maintaining supplier business margins (where commercial contracts apply)
  • Factors affecting the supply of sub-contracted or third-party work - contract, risk or resource issues
