Configuration Item Records

The purpose of the Configuration Item Records is to provide a set of records that describe information such as the status, version and variant of each configuration item and any details of important relationships between the items.

For the Product Description of the Configuration Item Records see the folder ‘Product Description outlines’ as part of the product package.

Under PRINCE2® 2009 there is a close link with the process Managing Product Delivery.

The purpose of the Managing Product Delivery process is to control the link between the Project Manager and the Team Manager(s), by placing formal requirements on accepting, executing and delivering project work.

Managing Product Delivery views the project from the Team Manager’s perspective, while the Controlling a Stage process views it from the Project Manager’s perspective.
